- Holotype
- BMNH 1947.3.4.6; probably the specimen illustrated by Gray 1834 "1830-35":Plate 57 as EMYS PLATYNOTHA).
- Type Locality
- "in Indiā Orientali"; "Sumatra" according to Gray (1834 "1830-35":Plate 57) restricted to "Sumatra; Singapore" by Gray (1863a:177)

- Distribution
- Thailand to southern Vietnam and south through the Malay Peninsula and Sarawak (Malaysia), and Sumatra and Kalimantan, Indonesia; records from Burma (Myanmar) may be in error.
