- Distribution
- South coast of New Guinea (Irian Jaya, Indonesia and Papua) and some islands in the Torres Strait
- Comments
- Possibly a synonym of Chelodina rugosa according to Rhodin and Mittermeier (1976). With no justification, Wells and Wellington (1985:13) placed this species in their new genus Macrochelodina, which itself was not diagnosed.
