- Holotype
- Presumably in the BMNH since it is illustrated in Gray 1831 "1830-35": Plate 77 as EMYS SPINOSAE, but not identified as such in Boulenger 1889:138; however, Bourret (1941:159) suggested that the type is specimen "c" in Boulenger 1889:138; that is, BMNH 62.8.28.1.
