- Removed from the synonymy of Lissemys punctata by Webb (1982), but again synonymized by Meylan (1987), although recognized as a full species by most recent authors, (e.g., King and Burke, 1989; Ernst and Barbour, 1989). Retained here because of lack of consensus. Reviewed by Bourret (1941; as Lissemys punctata scutata).
