- Holotype
- MNHN 4140; photographed in Bour and Pauler 1987:21.
- Type Locality
- "Patria ignota" [= locality unknown]; designated as "Amérique méridionale" by Duméril and Bibron (1835:437), and "Guyanas et au nord-est de l'Amazonie" by Lescure and Fretey (1975:1318); restricted to "rivières Ouaqui et Inini, bassin du Maroni en amont de Maripasoula, Guyane francaise" by Bour and Pauler (1987:6).
