- Known only from the Shanghai River and Tai Hu Lake, in the vicinity of Shanghai, China (PRC)
- Comments
- Removed from the synonymy of Trionyx [= Pelodiscus] sinensis by Meylan and Webb (1988:118); see also Boulenger (1889), Pritchard (1979), and Meylan (1987). Includes Pelochelys taihuensis Zhang (1984:71), according to R. Bour, P. A. Meylan, and R. G. Webb (pers. comm.).
